love treo
i am a treo person... chad used to be a treo person... i think he will come back one day... some stuff went down.. i am not exactly sure what and he gets touchy when i bring it up so hopefully they will make peace again.
so the treo 700w has been released and it is on verizon... very interesting... considering verizon hasnt picked it up in the past.. also, as we know, this is the first windows based treo... chad let us know what you think when you pick it up... and perhaps make up :-)

I can't believe you are going to bring up the breakup between me and the treo. It was a late night in tokyo when the unlocked gsm treo 650 was made available and I jumped on it. 2 weeks later it was in my hands and then after 12 reboots in one day with the normally rock solid goodlink client, it was back in the box on its way back to palm.
Frankly, the treo, as a palm based product is a ticking timebomb. Palms insistence on sticking with an OS earlier than the current cobalt release only proves their insecurity with the palmsource OS.
I know people with beta 700s and they say that the treo form, paired with windows mobile, is a reliable smartphone. I also think, but cannot confirm while stuck in the airport, that goodlink has a windows mobile client ready to go.
As for verizon, they are going to have the lockdown going on all of the new devices as they also have a n exclusive on the motorola q (aka "razrberry").
Not sure if you will be able to brownbag a gsm version of the q, but you know I'll be all over that.
I'm still stuck in the airport as the plane remains at 120% capacity.
